With six new crops laid out today in Farm Town, the Facebook App has become even more exciting. For sure, you already have seen these crops when you clicked on the store earlier this day. These are cotton, pineapple, blueberry, pepper, carrot, and raspberry.
Cotton is a 4-day crop, but cheaper than pumpkin. Pineapple and blueberry are 3-day crops, while pepper and carrot can be harvested in 2 days. The best among these new crops though is the raspberry, which can be harvested in 2 hours, lesser hours than if you have harvested grapes. As long as you have time to tend it, raspberry had replaced grapes as the top crop to plant if you want to gain experience points faster in Farm Town.
It could have been better if one of the new crops is an 8-hour or 10-hour crop.
Hire to Plow
The six new crops isn’t just the big news today in Farm Town. You might even consider this as the greatest enhancement of the game on this latest update. You can now hire farmers to plow for you! That is really awesome if you are keeping a big farm, since plowing at that stage tends to become a boring task.
When you hire other farmers, you spend less than what you could have spent if you have plowed the fields by yourself. Instead of 20 coins, you will spend either 10 coins or 15 coins. This depends if you are neighbors or not. The farmer plowing your field will get coins too: 5 coins if you are both strangers, and (someone told me that you get) 10 coins if he is a neighbor you hired to plow.
Okay now, you want someone to plow at your farm, but what about experience point? Will you lose it? A resounding no! You will still get 1 xp, and the farmer you hired to plow will also get one experience point per field plowed. So it’s a good deal for both of you. You might also consider getting hired to plow so you could gain experience points faster.
Hiring someone to plow at your farm is just like hiring someone to harvest. You just click on the player’s avatar, and click Hire to plow at your farm. Once he is in your farm he can only plow on fields that are previously harvested or on fields with crops that have gone to waste. He cannot plow on the green fields.
P.S.
When you hire someone to plow, it is best you wait until he is done plowing before you plant your crops. It’s hard to get over the ‘saving’ feature. You could try, but it would just frustrate you.
I have a problem with the hire to plow -feature. Everytime I hire a farmer to harvest, I next ask him/her if he wants to plow my fields. When I tick the hire to plow – I get a pop up window that says You can only hire someone to plow your fields if your fields have been recently harvested or the crops have gone waisted. Or something like that.
I have never managed to hire any farmer to plow, it doesnt work.
Is it a bug that needs to be fixed or what? Or do I do something wrong? Does all my fields have to been harvested already or is it ok if I have only some fields harvested and I ask a farmer to plow those fields. This really bugs me, please help!

No, the pop-up is always there after you click the “hire to plow at your farm”… just click the check button to proceed. Probably this is a glitch on the system since it always appear even if it appears to me that the pop-up window is just a reminder of how this new feature works. I just click the check button every time.
You can only hire to plow someone when you have harvested fields, or crops gone to waste. If you know you have that, then don’t worry. Click on the avatar of the farmer you want to hire to plow, then click hire to plow, then the pop-up window appears, then click the check button.

When this happens to me, i always go to the marketplace, and then go back home. That always works for me.. I’t just re-loading the page, and when I try to hire them, it usually works.
And also.. Make sure you have 10 neighbors, because you have to have 10, before you can hire to plow..

I didn’t know that having 10 neighbors is a requirement. I guess because I already have more than 10 when this feature came out, that I didn’t notice the difference.
why cant we drag and select all the fields of what we want
done such as
i select 100fields and then click on say grapes and all what you selected is done full of grages
and we need new costumes please them ones that they put on are lameo and so much like stupid yesterday
Yeah, I agree. Developers of this app should consider adding a drag feature. But a new feature has been added… to plow 4 fields or 2 fields at a time.
even if you hire aneighbir they still only get 5 coins aand 1XP. but icosts only 10 coins if you hire your neighbor
why is it that everytime i try to hire someone to plow my farm, it says i need to be an acclaimednighbour? i’m already at lelvel 29, going 30. and my friends who have lowere levels can hire people to plow their farm?
you need to have 15 neighbors. Its a trophy prize.
why is it that everytime i want to plow the field goes green instead of farm land? am i deleting it?
YEs you are deleting the farmers firld…..goto preferences and check the box that says remove spaces
I have an issue…When i get hired to work and i do it takes forever for my coins to catch up. It is way after the crops are done before i can go to the market place or even home, once I am there i cant get hired again or move it says saving. I hope that i am not the only person that this happens to but i have searched the net for days looking for a solutin!!! please help fellow Farm Townes
